Community Bible Church

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…” Matthew 28:19-20

"... you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8

The desire of Community Bible Church is to glorify God, and this is expressed in our constitution, which says:

The purpose of this church is to glorify God, to fulfill Christ's Great Commission to make disciples, and to assist believers in growing to the spiritual maturity in Christ...

One of the primary ways that God is glorified is for the local church to be committed to fulfilling God's Great Commission. We believe this will ultimately lead to an active involvement in God's Great Commission:

By sending qualified laborers to communities and lands beyond our own. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 13:2-3)

Historically we have expressed and encouraged this commitment to missions through commissioned, supported and sponsored missionaries, through support for short-term missions for young people and adults from our local body, through the invitation of full-time missionaries for speaking about their ministries/prayers/needs, through the distribution of designated giving to appropriate missionaries and missions agencies, and through the support of various organizations with a missions outreach such as East Iowa Bible camp.
